Re-shaping the offer to highlight the social impact of a promotional items company

For LYGO | Private company | France | 2014 / 2015

CLIENT

Lygo is a social and innovative start-up company which manufactures fairtrade promotional items for companies willing to embrace a sustainable approach. Products are co-created with clients and manufactured with recycled materials by excluded or handicapped people in Senegal.

CHALLENGE

Re-shape the offer and products catalogue in a clearer and appealing way that better highlights the social impact of the company. Define the company identity and strategy, and provide a set of relevant communication tools that helps the company to grow and attract investors.

APPROACH

As Design Strategist consultant, I relocated to their office and worked collaboratively with the owner to get a deep understanding of their activity and their customers’ motivations and uncover their underlying needs and issues regarding the overall organization.

SOLUTION

In collaboration with a graphic designer, I have led a full rebranding and created a set of print and digital materials and a website encompassing an interactive product catalogue of 130 references that have met their organizational needs.

SOLUTION 1 : A PROJECT POSTER

« I want to offer a fairtrade promotional item »
The objective was to explain in a fun and understandable way the business design through the process of making a promotional item at Lygo, from the product idea to the positive impacts of choosing a fairtrade product. The idea was to relate the full process with a client centered view
by making it clear and simple with a touch of humour and lighteness in the business topic. The poster has been printed to be part of a communication package for future investors, and also be used for the website in its digital version.

Sketches of the future poster explaining the whole process from a client point of view that turned out to be a very fun and engaging way to explain what LYGO was actually selling to its clients.

SOLUTION 2 : A 7 PANELS BROCHURE

« The (unmissable) recipe of a super social company »
The challenge was to explain in a fun and understandable way what is the social, economical and environmental impact of Lygo company in France and Senegal. The idea was to make the company impacts meaningful with the same touch of fun as the poster previously created. The aim was to get a creative support we want to keep on our desk and not just a brochure you read and throw out. The brochure has been printed to be part of a communication package for future investors, and also be used for the website in its digital version.

Research on the impact of the company's activity sorted in 3 categories (columns) - social, economic and environmental - and 2 locations (rows) - in Africa and France.

Paper prototype of the 7 panels brochure with 3 cubes popping out to stress the word « IMPACT ».

SOLUTION 3 : A WEBSITE WITH AN INTERACTIVE CATALOGUE

« Lygo, the fairtrade promotional item »
The challenge was to make a full rebanding of the website in a fun and understandable way by introducing the new logo and style guide, new editorial and visual contents and new architecture. The aim was to enhance the product catalogue, the services included, the co-creation process and the company’s social mission through a more attractive, clear and professional digital support. The website has an interactive product catalogue with 6 themes presenting more than 130 products, with a strong focus on the travel area which is the main field of the company.

Brainstorming on content architecture for the landing page.

Brainstorming about the main benefits of their service.

Brainstorming on content architecture for the general page presenting their products.
